Guy Murray
President– Life Management, Inc.
Helping hurting people is the mission of Life Management, Inc. This is accomplished every day through each of you and your commitment to our Core Values. It has always been my vision to grow the company and add new programming to all lines of business, as well as capitalize on new opportunities in the behavioral healthcare industry. As an example, we have placed a focus on expanding The Seeds of Hope Eating Disorders Program. To that end, we have already grown from one to four programs. This is based on our assessment of the need for this service in the communities we serve.
I am excited to share with you another milestone in our history. In order to further our mission, vision, and our commitment to growth, I am happy to announce that effective today, Friday, February 17, 2012, Life Management has merged with Magnolia Creek Treatment Center for Eating Disorders.
I will serve as the President and CEO of the new company and am excited to have Magnolia Creek as a part of our family. This larger company will include all of the business we are involved in currently as well as the established business of Magnolia Creek, located in Chelsea, Alabama. I would encourage you to visit Magnolia Creek’s web page at www.magnolia-creek.com to find out more information. They are a residential treatment facility for women with eating disorders. I have included more information on Magnolia Creek later in the newsletter for you to review.

Rehab After Work, The Light Program, and Life Counseling Services will continue to operate just as they have. Again, there will be no changes in your day to day business. I am excited for the ways in which Magnolia Creek is going to fit into our family of programs. The addition of Magnolia Creek will allow us to provide a continuum of care for our Eating Disorders program.

ASAM Releases NEW Definition of Addiction

In Uncategorized on January 31, 2012 at 7:02 pm

“At it’s core, addiction isn’t just a social problem or a moral problem or a criminal problem. It’s a brain problem whose behaviors manifest in all these other areas…Many behaviors driven by addiction are real problems and sometimes criminal acts. But the disease is about brains, not drugs. It’s about underlying neurology, not outward actions.”
-Dr. Michael Miller-(past president of ASAM who oversaw the development of the new definiton)
